1 Peter 3:9-11

⁹not repaying evil for evil or insult for insult, but on the other hand blessing others, because for this reason you were called, so that you could inherit a blessing. ¹⁰For

“The one who wants to love life
    and see good days
must keep his^[a] tongue from evil
    and his lips must not speak deceit.
¹¹And he must turn away from evil and do good;
    he must seek peace and pursue it.
